Autism, Illustration and Me

I’ve been SO proud and excited this year to join Lyric Rivera, Rebecca Duffus, and an awesome publishing team on the Autism, Identity and Me Adult Guide, coming out through Routledge in Fall 2026. I’m grateful for their trust in me and for the opportunity to use my art to help empower and support other autistic adults!

Here is the initial illustration announcement: on Instagram, on Substack

And here is a sneak peek at some of the art!

When I was diagnosed autistic five years ago (& with ADHD, too, to my surprise!), I would’ve loved to have a resource like this, an “empowering workbook” to “help Autistic adults, whether newly diagnosed or self-identifying, to develop a positive understanding of their unique Autistic identity.”

I’m so glad that I can now use my art to help autistic people all over the world to understand ourselves, advocate for ourselves, regulate ourselves, be proud of ourselves, and thrive!

Also, it has been such a joy working on it with these two amazing collaborators, and seeing firsthand their dedication, wisdom, creativity, and more as they work to make the world better!

One of the things this book does is help autistic grown-ups like me to finally believe we’re not broken or wrong, that we’re not defined by our convenience — or resemblance — to those around us, to stop seeing others’ disapproval as our own failure, and to help the adults we’ve become to understand, support, trust, and advocate for ourselves, and to thrive.

I’m so grateful for this chance to help create something so needed, and give back to the autistic community that has embraced the authentic me.
