After the Rainbow is a stand-alone chapter book for grades 1-3 with series potential.

Six magical creatures and one human girl chase a rainbow to get their wishes granted. When the rainbow fades away too quickly, are their hopes dashed — or might there be a little more magic after all?

This story began several years ago as a picture book and coloring book for my daughter, but has grown in complexity as she has. It’s been a joy for both of us to have the story mature alongside my now-7-year-old!

The story encourages children to value their own and others’ uniqueness. The characters’ journeys are identity-affirming, and they themselves embody a rainbow of diversity, including neurodiversity (own voices), diversity of gender identity, and more.

A dummy of the Part 1 (chapters 1-6) of After the Rainbow is available by request, as is more information about the plans for the rest of the series.
